Researchers investigated the effects of preoperative respiratory muscle training (RMT) and aerobic exercise on myasthenia gravis (MG) patients undergoing thymectomy. Eighty patients were divided into two groups: one received RMT, aerobic exercise, and respiratory physiotherapy; the other received only chest physiotherapy. The study found that the group undergoing RMT and aerobic exercise showed significantly improved postoperative lung function and daily living activities, leading to enhanced recovery after surgery compared to the control group.
