Researchers discussed the impact of psoriasis on the quality of life of patients, particularly those belonging to different racial and ethnic backgrounds. Studies have found that Black, Hispanic, Latino, and Asian patients with psoriasis report a greater negative impact on their quality of life compared to white patients with the same condition. Furthermore, data gathered from clinical trials are limited in diversity, as there is a lack of representation of people of color in these studies. The researchers emphasized that access to care is a significant concern in dermatology, particularly for people of color, noting that the availability of dermatologists in neighborhoods where minority populations reside is limited.
