Two recent studies, the MyRealWorld-MG (MRW) and the General Population Norms (POPUP) observational, aimed to understand the quality-of-life impact, medical burden, and caregiver needs for myasthenia gravis (MG) patients. Compared to the general population in the POPUP study, MG patients reported lower utility values, indicating worse health outcomes. MG patients also took sick leave more than twice as many times and were four times more likely to need caregiver assistance. Additionally, MG patients were twice as likely to utilize medical care. Overall, the studies showed that MG has a significant negative impact on affected individuals, consistent across different countries.
