In dysbiosis-related diseases, fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has transpired to be a hopeful therapeutic approach. In a review article, authors discussed highlights of FMT, as well as challenges associated with it. The authors also examined research regarding transplanting bacteria or virome, including the methodology, application, safety, possible mechanisms, research, and prospects of these alternative solutions. The goal of this review was to guide future enhancements to therapies based on microbiota, and improve scientific discussions surrounding the microbiota branch of medicine.
