It is thought that the nervous and immune systems play roles in psoriasis, so researchers observed how the neuropeptides calcitonin gene-related peptide, substance P, and vasoactive intestinal peptide can act on dendritic cells, as part of the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Understanding a neuroimmune response could lead to new interventions for psoriasis.
