Researchers looked at the role of diet in managing psoriasis, an immune-mediated inflammatory disease with a chronic relapsing course, often linked to cardiovascular risk. In adult cases, diet plays a significant role, and a Mediterranean, gluten-free, or low-calorie diet, combined with pharmacological therapy, can positively impact disease control. The study found that these dietary regimens may also benefit children with psoriasis, who often experience psychological stress, celiac disease, and obesity. Researchers suggest creating a personalized dietary plan that promotes good growth through an adequate intake of essential micro- and macronutrients and involves multiple health specialists, such as gastroenterologists, nutritionists, pediatricians, and dermatologists.
