Researchers studied nutrigenomics and their role in modulating microRNAs, which may play a role in psoriasis, an inflammatory disease with genetic links, autoimmunity, and environmental factors. There is limited research on the effects of diet and physical activity on psoriasis, but recent evidence suggests that a personalized anti-inflammatory diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and limits processed foods, sugary drinks, and red meat, along with the inclusion of regular exercise may be beneficial. Identifying nutrigenomic discoveries and the current lifestyle interventions associated with psoriasis can help physicians and physical therapists develop educational programs to manage and protect against the disease.
