Lisa Richards is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at University of California San Diego Health with over 20 years of experience in Hepatology. She was among the first advanced practice providers to earn the Associate Fellow designation from the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), recognizing her leadership and excellence in the field.

A key opinion leader, she has presented at numerous national conferences and, for the past 12 years, has focused on Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), now known as Metabolic Dysfunction Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). Ms. Richards is also a co-investigator on various studies examining MASLD and liver fibrosis.
