Dr. Ericka Brunson-Gillespie DNP, RN, AGACNP-BC is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who practices at Michigan Medicine with a clinical expertise in Neurosurgery and Internal Medicine. Ericka received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Wayne State University and her B.S.N
from Madonna University. She is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
She served three terms as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Liaison for Michigan and is committed to promoting diversity within the nurse practitioner (NP) profession, continuing to remove barriers to health care and encourages our legislators to allow patients to
have quality health care provided by NPs.
Ericka has a passion for advancing care for patients with movement disorders and was recently invited to present as faculty with the Neuro CME Movement Disorder Review on the role of the Advanced Practice Provider in Deep Brain Stimulator Surgery.
She was selected to represent NPs in Michigan for the initial development of Implicit Bias training. Dr. Brunson-Gillespie has presented at conferences nationally and locally. She is a journal reviewer and published author. She was awarded by the Michigan Council of Nurse
Practitioners the New NP of the Year Award in 2019.
Dr. Brunson-Gillespie has served on multiple nursing boards and committees including currently serving on a K-8 school board to help improve the health of communities in her area. Ericka is a leader and mentor, she is mindful of the great responsibility to continue fostering connections, collaborations, and maintaining a passion for excellence within the nurse practitioner community.
