Amanda Stanton is a Board-Certified Physician Associate currently working in colon and rectal surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. In her twelve years as a PA, she has gained experience in several subspecialties including gastroenterology and surgical gynecology. She has a clinical passion for pelvic floor health which has translated well into her work with the colorectal team. She serves as the chair of the NP PA Subcommittee of the Florida campus, representing her 320+ colleagues at executive leadership meetings. In this role she collaborates with physician leadership, administration, nursing services, surgical services, outpatient services, and hospital practice to implement best practices for NP PA integration within the practice.
Outside of clinical work, Amanda has a passion for servant leadership and continued professional development. She believes that leaders encourage others to follow them on a journey. A journey that improves not only the experience of their staff/colleagues but the team as a whole. She serves as the President-Elect of the Florida Academy of PAs and has represented Florida PAs at the AAPA House of Delegates for three terms. Amanda also serves on the AAPA Commission for the Health of the Public and is excited to review and update the AAPA policy position paper on human trafficking. Amanda has presented lectures on human trafficking since 2016, started a human trafficking taskforce at the Mayo Florida campus to raise clinician awareness and intervention opportunities, and is involved with local organizations to continue the fight against human trafficking in NE Florida.
