Researchers investigated the relationship between anxiety, acute pain intensity, and decision regret among living liver donors in the postoperative stage. They gathered information on anxiety and acute pain intensity before the surgery and on postoperative day (POD) 3 and POD 7. The findings showed that living liver donors experienced moderate levels of anxiety and acute pain during the postoperative period. The study concluded that living liver donors experience moderate levels of acute pain and anxiety in the postoperative period. Although decision regret is generally low, the satisfaction level with pain management plays a role in influencing regret. Therefore, continuous efforts should be made to ensure the effectiveness of pain and anxiety management during this phase.
