A recent study investigated the differences in gut microbiota between two subtypes of psoriasis: guttate psoriasis (GP) and psoriasis plaques (PP). Fecal samples were collected from 30 psoriatic patients (15 with GP and 15 with PP) as well as 15 healthy individuals. Metagenomic sequencing was performed to compare the compositions of gut microbiota and their genetic and metabolic characteristics between GP and PP. The results suggest the potential for microbiome-based stratification of psoriasis patients, offering a theoretical foundation for personalized approaches in the management of the condition.
